Review: The Body Shop - Born Lippy Lip Balm

I have this dry lips problem and i think they look so pale but lipstick is not really my thing so i bought this lip balm last month from The Body Shop for 19 MYR. I think they are purse friendly. I have always loved stuffs from TBS because of their scent! The one i bought is raspberry flavored. It smells so yummy but its taste is not as good as its smell.

http://thebeautypier.blogspot.com/

It's pretty much clear and glossy on the lips but it doesn't stay long (or maybe because i keep on licking my lips hmm). The texture is somehow too thick and heavy on the lips. Truth to be told, this does very little for my lips. My lips remain dry and the color doesn't really show up. And i would prefer it to be in tube (like lipsticks) because it would be easier instead of having to stick my finger into the pot and then onto my lips.

The packaging is very convenient i must say. Very small and light, easy to carry around. But would i buy again? Well, i think no. Gotta start searching for new lip balm :( Any suggestions on brands/products that might help me solve my lippy problems?

Lantern Festival

UTP had this annual carnival called Euphonious. Best gila, they got Maxis to sponsor them. Bunkface was there (Saturday, June 14) performing 5 songs. Sad thing that I couldn't make it for the mini concert.

Sunday evening, I had a friend of mine inviting me to UTP for a lantern festival. To release a lantern during lantern festival (in Thailand) is one of my 30 by 30 list. Refer to the side bar kalau tak percaya. Tapi bila entah nak dapat pergi Thailand during that fest, so redah aje lah pergi UTP punya.

Was thinking of going alone je, sebab nak cepat, taknak terlepas. But then bila I asked my geprens, they said they wanna come pastu Hana invited the boyz sebab dia tak percaya nanti I nak drive balik Ipoh balik memalam. Well, I pun tak percaya diri sendiri sebenarnya muehehe tapi malas nak fikir. Balik nanti, nanti punya cerita. Kena sampai sana dulu, tu paling penting.

Dah ready pukul 19:45 but then kena tunggu the others, 20:30 baru gerak zzzz. I was informed that there will be 4 sessions. At 30 minutes interval starting at 20:15. So macam tak kisah sangat sebab mula-mula ingatkan ada sekali je.

Reached UTP around 21:15. It was so crowded, and freaking dark. Well, padang kan. What do you expect. Kawan-kawan sendiri pun dah tak nampak pergi mana. But then I heard someone calling my name. "Ehhhh Ainaaallll !!" Surprise surprise, it was Naim :) I didn't tell him that I'm coming to UTP sebab we just spent the weekend (Friday & Sat) together ((pastu kena tinggal sebab dia nak balik tengok Bunkface, K)). So rasa macam malas lah nak kacau. Dah la gelap and ramai orang, boleh pulak terserempak en. Adik-adik, ni namanya kalau dah jodoh tak kemana hahaha(Amiinn)hahaha. Tapi masa tu Naim dah nak chow from Oval Park sebab nak pergi makan and his friends tumpang his car so kena jugak pergi.

Aan saved me a lantern. Well, it is actually Lukman's but dia pergi chancellor hall tengok show Sepahtu x Jambu. Pastu Aan, Ahsha, Melor and F.Fatihah helped me to release the lantern. Well technically, they were the one who released the lantern sebab I nak record video. Masa our turn to lepas lantern tu, dah tak banyak dah lantern lain. Sebab masa first session, ramai-ramai lepaskan lantern serentak. So kiranya dah tak menjadi dah 2nd/3rd/4th session tu :( Aduhai.

Next kita pergi lepak Chancellor Hall pulak. Ternganga jugak ah tengok hall diorang cenggitu. Gila bubis. Tapi kita cover sikit batak tu, watlek. Naim came and join us after he had his dinner and afterwards dia bawak kita pergi Farouk sebab kita semua tengah kebulur tak dinner lagi. And it was 00:30 kot that time. Mana tak lapar. Oh and it was full moon, and the sky was clear. It was so nice :)

Above is my personal favourite picture taken by my favourite person ;) Just because he was there the whole time from the beginning, so he managed to take this pictures with so many lanterns about to be released. So beautiful!

Here's a 30 seconds video that i made.

Well I guess it's true, sometimes, the best way to appreciate something is to be without it for a while.

Music & Lyrics

I've been living with a shadow overhead. I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed. I've been lonely for so long. Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on. I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away. Just in case I ever need 'em again some day.

I've been setting aside time. To clear a little space in the corners of my mind. All I want to do is find a way back into love. I can't make it through without a way back into love. I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine. I've been searching but I can't see the signs. I know that it's out there.

There's got to be something for my soul, somewhere. I've been looking for someone to shed some light. Not somebody just to get me through the night. I could use some direction. And I'm open to your suggestions. All I want to do is find a way back into love. I can't make it through without a way back into love

And if I open my heart again. I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end. There are moments when I don't know if its real. Or if anybody feels the way I feel. I need inspiration, not just another negotiation.

All I want to do is find a way back into love. I can't make it through without a way back into love and if I open my heart to you, I'm hoping you'll show me what to do.

And if you help me to start again
You know I will be there for you in the end

Above are actually the lyrics for one of the soundtracks (Way Back Into Love - Hugh Grant) of the movie: Music & Lyrics. And it is also actually one of his favourite movies.

Sinopsis sikit:
This movie is about Alex, a singer, very popular back in the 80s. Since he is now not that popular anymore, he literally would do anything to get his popularity back up. Somehow the current sensational star asked for his help, to write a song for her and she wants it to be done in just 3 days. Ye ke 3 days? 4 kot. Takpun a week. Tak kisah la i think you got my point, kiranya just a short period of time. Pastu ada this one girl whom worked as his housekeeper helped him to write the song pastu i think you can guess what happened next kan?

And you should totally watch How To Train Your Dragon 2! Best gilo. Kalau the first one pun dah best, yang sequel ni berkali ganda gila gila best dia. I would totally buy one if they really exist and it will be a night fury for sure. Ok dah dah la berangan tu.

If I didn't say no to them, I'd be at Cameron Highlands by now. Aish dah menyesal sikit. Tapi takpe, priorities first. Set your priorities right, Ainal. Studies always comes first ok. Had a good time last night which made my whole week, so takpelah. I'll pass this one. *big grin*

Cool Places In Ipoh - Gua Tempurung

Quoting my last post; "I just want to go on a long drive to somewhere new.
Go on more adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people."

Well, mission accomplished i can say.

Ever watched the movie "Yes Man" ?
I'm trying to be like him. To say yes to every request.

To say yes to every challenge. As long as they're not off the limit of course.

[June 7th , Saturday]
Went to Rawang for a wedding together with 'em. I decided to go at the very last minute, ((saying no to the temptation of the PS4 at home *cries* )). Luckily there was still one empty seat in Jelin's car. Phew. It was fuuuunnnn. Spent the 2 hours on the road sharing and exchanging stories and singing and bahan each other. It just somehow brought us closer. Pastu makan kenduri, spent like 40 minutes there pastu went to Kamal Bookstore to buy medical textbooks (I doubt that any of us will read them) using the book voucher pastu balik.

I have never gone to KL pergi-balik-hari yang i only spent like an hour and a half pastu balik. Macam amboi dekat nya KL-Ipoh. Maybe some of you pernah/selalu macamtu so it's nothing to you but then again, I am writing about me ok.

Oh pastu Jelin and his housemates were planning to go to Gua Tempurung on the next day, so he invited us to join them. Since my housemates have been wanting to go there since forever (tak forever sangat pun, 3 bulan je), they immediately say yes. And I? Well, I was a bit scared actually. Back in 2009, I had an injury involving my left knee (patella dislocated). Knowing that later we'll have to crawl dalam gua nanti I macam hmmmm.....

That night, I fikir about all the fun and experience that I'll missed if I say no. Macam pehal lah nak takut sangat ni padahal tak cuba lagi. I have to stop overthink things. (I really should. If I didn't overthink stuffs, I would still have you here.)

[June 8th , Sunday]

Woke up at 5 that morning hahaha mangat tak mangat la kan. Jelin came and fetched us up around 7 pastu we had our breakfast together at New Hollywood. I had roti jala + kuah durian ya Allah sedapnyaaaaa. Restaurant New Hollywood ni very famous actually. Dia macam satu restaurant corner lot, pastu ada banyak kiosk-kiosk kecik jual food. Macam food court, but mini version. And mostly are Chinese food served by Chinese people. Tapi i bought the roti jala from kiosk orang Melayu ok.

From our house (Ipoh Garden) to Gua Tempurung tak jauh pun. Around 30 minutes. Lalu Medan Gopeng, pergi straight je sampai ada satu signboard besar tulis 'Welcome to Gua Tempurung', tu baru belok kiri.

Oh basically what you have to bring are
- duit ticket RM22 (adult)
- torchlight (tapi ada je jual dekat sini disposable one for RM4.80)
- towel (optional. boleh je sunbathing sampai kering hehe)
- baju salin
- waterproof case for your phone mahal
- waterproof bag for DSLR

Nak caving ni ada banyak level, 1 until 4. Macam from easy to brutal ah gitu. Going with these guys, mesti la diorang nak level 4 kan, so ikut je lah. Kalau boleh, pergi awal. Sebab this caving thing ambil masa around 4 hours macamtu. Kitorang start at 0930 macamtu and habis around 1330.

Caving ni ikut trip every half an hour from 0900 - 1100. Satu trip tu dalam 30 orang kalau tak salah. Lepastu kalau boleh, duduk depan and dengar explanation from the tour guide (?) in charge. I found this to be really interesting (well, i kan... always into this kind of stuffs), so I tinggal diorang kejap and jalan dulu dekat depan. Haih rugi betul, should have bought the waterproof phone case.

Lepastu kaaannn, I rasa macam terharu sangat with the people yang satu trip dengan I ni. I ada je torchlight, tapi I malas pegang sebab I rasa macam boleh je nampak. Dalam gua tu ada je lampu dinding plus cahaya from torchlight orang lain. Tapi ada one guy depan I ni dia macam.. I taktau lah, dia ingat I takde torchlight kot. So dia macam tolong tolong suluh for me. Kalau ada batu ke apa, dia macam suluh kan, macam nak bagitau i to be careful. Random act of kindness. Pastu I rasa macam so inspired that I did the same to the people who walked behind me :)

Bila dah makin jauh ke dalam, the track makin susah. No more laluan bertangga tapi lalu dalam air, and memang fully depending on torchlight.

Ni gambar atas ni, air tak tinggi macam masa kitorang pergi. Pastu ada one time tu, the roof tu macam rendah gila-gila, memang kena betul baring kalau tak memang sedap la terhantuk dekat batu-batu tajam tu. And ni sebenarnya sungai (kot), air ada arus bukan bertakung so sungai lah kan kan? Arus dia macam deras jugak la. Sampai I terhanyut hahahaha.

Ada banyak je tempat yang require us to slide down the slope tapi this one (the first picture) paling mencabar la sebab memang curam gila and tinggi and licin nokharom. And I am so proud of my guyfriends sebab diorang volunteered to lend a hand. Jelin tunggu dekat tengah-tengah macam the guy in the picture, and the others tunggu dekat bawah, sambut/tahan kaki. My trip-mate ada a few yang badan besar jugak so kitorang risau jugak la kot kot tertarik Jelin jatuh sekali ke, takpun tertendang muka kawan-kawan yang tunggu dekat bawah tu. I almost fell ok. Was sliding down too freaking fast yang sampai macam nak tercampak ke depan. Cuak tak cuak la kan. Depan tu dah la gaung batu-batu tajam stalactites stalagmites semua.

Pastu kena turun dari lubang pulak (the second picture). Lubang ni tinggi tau. Dah la akak-akak ni semua katik. Pastu John pulak volunteered to help. Dia turun dulu, sandar dekat dinding pastu macam kneeling ke tah cemana, macam offer his thigh untuk orang-orang katik ni pijak. Kita memang jadi orang last la untuk gerak sebab tunggu diorang ni tolong orang-orang semua kasi lepas haha.

Pastu jalan ke dalam lagi and lagi, pastu jumpa cahaya/opening. Pastu ingatkan dah sampai penghujung, so kitorang pun lepak la duduk keluarkan pasir dalam kasut semua. Tiba-tiba je tengok semua orang dah tak ada. Rupa-rupanya tak habis lagi and kitorang dah kena tinggal!! Terus kelam kabut pakai kasut then redah je entah laluan betul ke idak. Tapi nasib baik lepastu jumpa balik orang-orang lain tu. Kalau tak, jadi Perak Man lah kitorang mereput sesat dalam tu.

Sampai lah kita betul-betul dekat hujung gua, semua tersadai. Dekat nak akhir-akhir track ni la akan nampak batu marmar (yang orang buat lantai tu) cantik-cantik. Memang macam, 'wow I wish my mama was here' haha. On the way nak keluar tu, the guys jumpa satu spot yang macam air deras yang seronok untuk water slide hahahaha terus jadi budak-budak. Pastu ada 2 orang budak aged around 8 y/o macamtu main slide sekali, tapiiii diorang ni lagi mengalahkan budak-budak tu siap suruh ketepi "Dik, dik tepi sikit abang pulak! abang pulak!" -.-

All in all seronok sangat. Tak adalah bahaya like how I expected it to be.
See? Kalau I said no to them, I takdapat merasa seronok macamni :)

Yes to more adventures to come (insyaAllah).

And you, we will meet again someday and that time it will be forever. We'd spend our holidays holding hands while going on adventures and we'd spend our nights dreaming together of what new things we'd do in our lifetime together. Just like how we planned ok

Apa yang paling sakit ialah aku percaya yang dia takkan tinggalkan aku.

Akhirnya dia ditinggalkan juga.
Disini yang paling sakit bukanlah rasa ditinggalkan.
Tapi rasa percaya itu."

Ipoh City Awesome - Cool Places In Ipoh

My friends asked for my help to give them a little tour around Ipoh. Since I have nothing better than memishang to do, I agreed and the first place we set foot to was Khizanat. Empayar Kuku Besi was having some sort like a tour thingy and their current stop was Khizanat! Guess we got lucky. All the designs are so damn nice but I made up my mind and I chose the one with the skull on it and that design was the last piece that they had. Double lucky!

And oh, for those yang dah lama tak jejak Khizanat, diorang dah renovate ok. Dah cat baru, dah tambah bar counter, dah tambah kerusi makan (tapi still tak cukup), tambah bean bags. Sedih jugak la sebab nama I yang I tulis dekat dinding dulu dah tak ada, pastu dinding baru pulak dah penuh :(

((click HERE for the previous post about Khizanat))

Lepastu around 4pm ada macam a little performance from Myo (Oh Chentaku) sempena Tapau Fest. I don't really know what Tapau Fest is all about but you guys can check out their instagram account @tapaufest.

Since we were not really into this kind of fest, so kita chow pergi Park Lab. PARK is one of Oo'i and Comrades' project providing a platform for young entrepreneurs in the creative industries to generate income and produce quality products under one roof. Ok tu ayat facebook dia - https://www.facebook.com/parkipoh

Senang cerita, dia macam butik Calaqisya, Sincerelybyus, Old Blossom Box etc, vendor concept boutique kind of thing. It's just that this place jual barang-barang local. Brand Abstrax Jingga, Comme, Rare, Supersunday, IAmJuetFuel by Yuna, pelikat pants Afdlin haa. Tapi kalau sesiapa nak join, still ada slot kosong lagi, rental price pun boleh tahan murah. Boleh contact Megat Faris - 017 574 8190.

Situated across Kinta Riverfront Hotel, lot paling hujung (most left). Kalau taktau jalan boleh Waze. Everything is at your fingertips gitu. Park Lab ni baru je bukak. Mid May macamtu if I'm not mistaken. And they just launched their cafe on the 1st of June. For now they only serve drinks, but in the future they'll serve food too!

Next stop: Plan B and Burps & Giggles

These 2 cafes are situated next to each other (Well, not really. There's another cafe named Roquette in the middle). The halal status of these two restaurants are still not clear though. A friend of mine asked one of the staffs regarding the halal-ness, and even the staff himself said that it's semi-halal since it's pork free but they have wine there. Pork free doesn't mean that it's halal. Sejak bila pulak ada halal, separuh halal and haram kan? And I did see a few muslims eating there. Maybe they didn't know hmm...

Behind the cafes is actually one of the street arts in Ipoh but since it was raining, we didn't get the chance to make silly poses with the murals. Well, there is one..... but I don't think Aan would approve to have his embarassing picture here hehe.

We didn't come here to get our tummy full so I can't really say anything about the food but you can refer to these blogs who did a review on these cafes :)

The Yum List - http://theyumlist.blogspot.com/2013/08/burps-and-giggles-ipoh-malaysia.html

I brought them to Thumbs Cafe for dinner. ((Already did a special post about the cafe last year.)) It's my fav place so I treated them with Thumb's signature meatballs because why not? Pleasure is all mine. So after the guys performed their Maghrib, we went back to Kinta Riverfront.

Oh the riverwalk bridge somehow nak dijadikan macam that one place in Korea yang letak heart-shaped padlock tulis nama bf/gf lepastu campak kunci dalam sungai uish romantic katanya. Aan's attempt on being romantic, dia beli kunci basikal hahahaha. The key combination is their anniversary date awwwhhh. Macam comel tapi macam kelakar tapi ok lah sweet la jugak haha. Tapi tak sempat pulak nak baca what he wrote on it sebab dia macam malu-malu sorok from kitorang ceh.

Then we decided to ride the tandem bike but it was raining, the owner tak bagi sebab takut licin. So kita pergi balik Park Lab and lepak situ minum "Pop, The Soda". Pop soda ni ada banyak flavour: laici, mangga, durian belanda, pisang pastu apa entah lagi, lupa pulak. Satu RM5 tapi mcm takpelah, cakap support local kan? Best served cold tapi jangan banyak sangat ice okeh.

Tandem bike punya rental price is RM15 per 30 minutes + deposit RM10. Walaupun asyik tuang biar diorang yang kayuh tapi peluh jugak la. Kira ganti work out session for the evening hehe. If you know me, you know how i appreciate the scenery. Almost every step akan stop tangkap gambar. Busy sangat ambil gambar, tiba-tiba dah tak nampak diorang. Terus cuak, call tanya dekat mana. Rupa-rupanya I dah terlajak jalan jauh ke depan -.-'

Next stop is ETS yay! The guys lagi excited, serious tak tipu haha. So I biar je la diorang main, I just duduk tepi tangkap gambar. Banyak gila budak kecik kerumun sebab nak pecahkan the bubbles. Serious cute! Lepastu ada sorang ni tetiba datang berdiri dekat sebelah, macam wondering what was I actually doing. Lepastu when I switched to front camera, she got even more excited and started to wave at the screen aduhai comel betul. If only I have a baby sister/brother.

Ok tu je. Sorry for the awkward pishang moment. Hope you guys had fun. Well, I know I do :)

Catch of the day, set of rainbow+clouds felt magnet for MYR15 bought from a booth at Plan B.

I just want to go on a long drive to somewhere new.
Go on more adventures.
Be around good energy.
Connect with people.
Learn new things.
Grow.
